Please help!!Spooky horse?

I have a rodeo coming up and my QH gelding is afraid of the banners they have up on the fence. I have been to this rodeo before with him and he would spook everytime he got within 20-30 ft of a banner. Well....the rodeo is indoors and there are lots of banners put up on the fence. How can i get him comforable with riding around and next to the banners?
