Blessed are the warmongers?

Since Jesus, Gahndi, Martin Luther King Jr. and other peacemakers throughout history understood the self-perpetuating nature of violence and therefore denounced it, can any true christian advocate (or even silently tolerate) violence in any form? It seem to me that between resigned acceptance of violence and it's employment the proper christian attitude would be one of peaceful, but firm and constant renounciation of its use.
