Help me check grammar, spelling, and punctuation. edit?

There are some who would disagree with using a template for writing and they certainly make some valid points. However, I agree with Graff and Birkenstein’s views that using templates encourage and enable novice writers. They are not requirements, nor do they suggest that they are as some critics contend. They are merely guidelines. In fact, I am utilizing a template to write this response. I am not required or forced to by lack of intellect or poor creativity. I simply follow the basic template fleshing it out with my own wit and wisdom. Of course there will be some who will reject the idea of using a template simply on the grounds that it is condescending and not meant for use by serious writers. That may be true sometimes, but by all means not always. For instance, if someone desired to write in a language they were not fluent with, a template would serve them admirably. Templates can facilitate writing no matter what level of writing the author has achieved. They may be used as a base for writing and should be viewed as nothing more.
