I'm trying to consolidate DVD's of programs recorded off of TV.. help?

I have some DVD's recorded on high speeds with one program I have on another one, and one I don't. If I used Roxio DVD creator and copied a piece of one DVD to another and it says "Identical to Original". Would that be as good as keeping the original DVD that was recorded straight off of TV?
