I want him to pick me?

i really like this guy and there is a lot of chemistry between us, we are just like hanging out but not dating and recently his best friend told me that my relationship with him is not serious yet bcause there is another girl who he hangs out with too and ive seen them hanging out a lot and his bff told me that he doesnt know who to pick bcs things are getting serious with both of us and he will pick one to make it oficial but i want him to pick me and i dont want to seem desparate to him, WHAT should I do?
