Snowy picture on certain channels?

on my tv, the picture gets messed up and snowy starting at channel 53 and above. You can still hear and see what's on on those channels, but it's a little annoying. is that something that could be easily fixed? for fairly cheap? i think it's about 5-10 years old; i got it from my mom when i moved into my apartment and it's fine otherwise. I don't really want to buy another one since i'm kinda strapped for cash; i guess more than anything i wanted to know if anyone knew what could cause that?
